Soccer’s global appeal and its capacity to bring joy and unity make it a powerful tool in the arsenal of sports diplomacy.

The Impact of Sports Diplomacy

Sports diplomacy has the unique ability to open channels of communication and understanding in a way that traditional diplomacy sometimes cannot. Through shared experiences and mutual respect on the field, athletes and nations can forge bonds that transcend political and cultural differences.

Sports events like the Olympics, cricket matches between India and Pakistan, and international soccer competitions have shown time and again how competition can bring people together for a common cause, promoting peace, understanding, and goodwill among nations.

Sports DiplomacyConclusion

The Canvas of Creativity

Designer kurtis combine contemporary design elements with classic silhouettes to create a canvas for artistic expression. These kurtis are stunning because they capture India’s rich cultural legacy while embracing the changing fashion preferences of modern women. Beyond the classic straight-cut kurti, there is more room for creativity with A-line, Anarkali, high-low, and asymmetrical versions. Thanks to these variances, designers can experiment with lengths, trims, and shapes, providing a wide range of alternatives that suit various body types and tastes.

Embroidery Extravaganza

One characteristic of designer kurtis for women is embroidery, which gives the outfit a hint of luxury and complexity. Designers employ various methods to produce exquisite designs and motifs that embellish the cloth, from intricate zari work to conventional threadwork. Explore the richness of designer kurtis that are beaded, mirror, and sequin-embellished, giving traditional clothing a glamorous touch. A basic kurti becomes a statement garment that draws attention and praise when embroidery is placed thoughtfully at the neckline, sleeves, or hemline.

Prints and Patterns

Designer kurtis are known for their embroidery, which gives the outfit a dash of luxury and complexity. Designers use various techniques to produce beautiful patterns and motifs that cover the cloth, ranging from intricate zari work to conventional threadwork. Discover the opulence of kurtisfor women adorned with beads, mirror work, and sequins, which elevate traditional clothing with a glamorous touch. A basic kurti can be made into a statement garment that draws attention and praise by carefully placing embroidery on the neckline, sleeves, or hemline.

Cuts and Silhouettes

Designer kurtis for women are available in various cuts and silhouettes to suit multiple tastes and events. Anarkali kurtis are appropriate for festive occasions and celebrations because of their flowing and flaring design, which radiates grace and elegance. A-line kurtis are suitable for professional and informal settings because of their more structured silhouette.

High-low kurtis give off a modern vibe while enabling a lively and carefree style. Popular for casual wear, straight cut kurtis with side slits offer comfort without sacrificing flair. Designer kurtis are available in various shapes and silhouettes to suit every mood and occasion.

Fabric Tales

The fabric selection is a critical factor in characterising designer kurtis. For formal and celebratory events, luxurious textiles like velvet, silk, and brocade are frequently used to give the ensemble a regal feel. Kurtis made of cotton and linen are popular because they are comfortable and breathable, making them perfect for daily wear.

Fabrics with a flowing quality, such as crepe, georgette, and chiffon, improve the kurti’s movement and give it a refined, feminine appearance. Through the interaction of several textiles, designers can play with texture and create kurtis that, through their tactile features, each tell a different story.

Necklines and Sleeves

With so many possibilities for necklines and sleeves, designer kurtis allow women to choose looks that go well with their body type and individual style. V-necks, boat necks, and keyhole necks are stylish options that give the kurti a glamorous touch. Traditional full sleeves and three-quarter sleeves are among the many sleeve types; more modern options include cap sleeves and sleeveless garments. Designer kurtis are charming because of their artistic variants, which create timeless and trendy styles. These variations include bell sleeves, puff sleeves, and cold-shoulder sleeves.

Colours of Expression

Designer Kurtis for women come in a wide range of colours to suit various preferences and inclinations. Though classic colours like red, blue, and green are timeless favourites, designers frequently play around with pastels, neutrals, and unusual colour combinations. A multitude of themes and emotions can be expressed through colour choice. Elaborate and striking colours are frequently linked to joyous occasions, whereas more subdued tones emanate sophistication and nuance. Women can create a wardrobe of designer kurtis that fits a variety of moods and occasions thanks to the colour variety.

Occasion-Based Styling

Designer kurtis can be dressed up or down for a variety of events, including informal get-togethers and joyous festivities. A lavishly adorned or embroidered kurti looks elegant and regal when worn with palazzo trousers or a flared skirt for formal occasions. Due to their grandeur and grace, Anarkali kurtis are popular for traditional events like weddings.

Lighter materials and more laid-back styles are appropriate for casual events. Comfort may be achieved without sacrificing style when wearing a patterned or straight-cut cotton kurti with leggings or denim and minimal embroidery. Designer Kurtis for women are highly adaptable, allowing ladies to seamlessly go from one situation to another without sacrificing style.

Accessorising the Ensemble

The attractiveness of designer kurtis is enhanced via the use of accessories. Whether modern pieces, chandbalis, or classic jhumkas, statement jewellery combines the whole look. Whether wearing heels, casual flats, or traditional mojaris, footwear enhances appearance. The extra layer of elegance added by dupattas, stoles, or scarves allows for imaginative draping or can be used as an accent to finish the ensemble. Finding the right balance when accessorising stylish Kurtis for women is crucial to ensuring the accessories complement the ensemble without removing their natural appeal.

Conclusion

Every kurti has a different story, from the minute details of the embroidery to the fabric selection and colour scheme. Women can embrace history with a modern twist thanks to designer kurtis, which provide a classic and on-trend wardrobe. Thus, investigate the patterns that best represent you, try out looks that suit your character and use the world of designer Kurtis for women as a blank canvas to express your sense of style. UNESCO recognises Garba as humanity’s cultural heritage https://indiapost.com/unesco-recognises-garba-as-humanitys-cultural-heritage/ Thu, 07 Dec 2023 06:21:00 +0000 https://indiapost.com/?p=188141 UNITED NATIONS: UNESCO has declared the Garba, the dance of Gujarat, as “an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity” (ICHH), recognising it as an inherited “living expression” that fosters inclusiveness and honours the feminine energy of Shakti.

UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage took the decision on Wednesday at its meeting in Kasane, Botswana to inscribe Garba on its ICHH list.

“Intangible cultural heritage is an important factor in maintaining cultural diversity in the face of growing globalisation” and an understanding of it from different communities helps intercultural dialogue and mutual respect for other ways of life, UNESCO said.

“Over the decades Garba has been an integral, multivalent component of Gujarati culture in India and among the Indian diaspora across the globe”, it said.

Garba is performed during nine days of the Navaratri festival that is dedicated to the worship of the feminine energy or Shakti, UNESCO said.

The “visual expressions of this feminine energy are expressed through the Garba dance”, it added.

“In addition to being a religious ritual, Garba fosters social equality by diluting socio-economic, gender, and rigid sect structures. It continues to be inclusive and participative by diverse and marginalised communities, strengthening community bonds”, it said.

Besides monuments and objects, cultural heritage also includes “traditions or living expressions inherited from our ancestors and passed on to our descendants, such as oral traditions, performing arts, social practices, rituals, festive events, knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe or the knowledge and skills to produce traditional crafts”, UNESCO said explaining the ICHH.

“I hope this inscription helps ensure the viability of this tradition and inspires the community, particularly young people, to continue with the knowledge, skills and oral traditions associated with Garba”, said Tim Curtis, the director of UNESCO’s regional office in New Delhi.

Garba joins 12 from India on the ICHH list as well as Nowroz, which is shared with other countries.

Those on the list from India include the tradition of Vedic chanting, Chhau dance, Mudiyettu dance drama of Kerala, Ramlila performance, Buddhist chanting of Ladakh, and Durga Puja.

The committee on Wednesday recognised Rickshaws and Rickshaw painting in Dhaka.

Top underrated casino games available offline and online https://indiapost.com/top-underrated-casino-games-available-offline-and-online/ Wed, 29 Nov 2023 11:00:49 +0000 https://indiapost.com/?p=187784 There are a lot of casino games but most of them are underappreciated and unknown. Here is a look at some of the underrated casino games.

Games like Texas Hold’em, blackjack, slots and roulette are often associated with casinos worldwide. But there are other lesser-known onsite and online casino games that can be just as exciting.

Here are a few casino games you can try out and maybe even play more often if you enjoy playing them but are searching for something different from what you usually play. They might even become your favourite casino games to play! You can participate in several of them anytime, anyplace, as they provide both in-person and online versions.

Three-card poker

Three-card poker, sometimes referred to as brag, differs from most other variations of the game primarily in that you are just competing against the dealer. Making the finest poker hand with just three cards is the aim of this game. Up to seven players may participate in this blackjack-style poker variation, which is played at a table. Each player will receive three face-up cards from the dealer, while the dealer will receive three face-down cards. Prior to the cards being dealt, wagers are placed.

Depending on what they see in front of them, players have the option to fold or raise their stake once all cards are on the table. You must determine what cards the dealer could still have in the deck after more than half of them have been dealt. The dealer will reveal his hand and the players’ subsequent victories or losses upon making the final choice.

Spanish 21

Spanish 21 is similar to blackjack in that the player must draw cards totalling 21. Keep in mind that there are multiple decks used in this game, all of which have had the 10s removed. To understand this it is essential to understand how to play blackjack. The player needs to win entirely by getting 21 with two cards—which is obviously more difficult to accomplish without the 10s. There are more ways to win and get paid off than by beating the dealer with different card combinations.

Trente ET Quarante

Given that they adopted and improved many of the games we play now, it appears that the French have a fondness for casino games. One such game is trente et quarante, which means “thirty and forty.”

Not sure how to play this card game at the casino? Well, it’s simple. Trente et quarante is a pure-luck game in which the cards are dealt from a total of six decks. In this game, an ace is worth one, a number card is worth its face value, and a jack, queen or king is worth ten.

It takes two dealers and is played across two lines. When playing trente et quarante, players wager on which card row’s total will come closest to 31. Additionally, they can wager on whether the first cards in each of the two rows will match.

Aviator

Aviator Casino Game is an online casino game for obvious reasons. It is pretty different from all the games listed above but the excitement a player gets while playing aviator remains the same.

In the casino game Aviator, participants wager on how Spribe’s rising multiplier would turn out. Bets can be placed at any moment throughout the live streaming of the game. Starting at 1x, the multiplier grows by a tiny amount every second. Players have the option to cash out at any moment, and the reward will depend on the multiplier in effect at that moment.

To cash out your stake before the multiplier crashes is the aim of the game. You will forfeit your wager if the multiplier collapses before you can pay out. The multiplier crashes at random, thus you can never tell when it will occur.

Casino War

Many online casinos offer the game “casino war,” which is entirely dependent on chance. Having the highest card in your hand is crucial. People put their money on whether the player or the dealer will have the winning card. “War” is declared if the values of the two cards match. Each player then gets a second card until the player with the highest card comes up trumps.

Conclusion

Now that you have learnt about some of the underrated but equally exciting casino games the next time you visit a casino be it online or offline you might want to try out some different than usual games.

Assam: River island Majuli immersed in Raas Mahotsav https://indiapost.com/assam-river-island-majuli-immersed-in-raas-mahotsav/ Tue, 28 Nov 2023 06:38:58 +0000 https://indiapost.com/?p=187745 MAJULI: The annual Raas Mahotsav is here, and what better place can be than Majuli in Assam to immerse oneself in the bhakti of Lord Krishna. The annual Raas Mahotsav or Raas Leela has started in Assam’s Majuli, the world’s largest inhabited river island.

Majuli is the core of Assamese Neo-Vaishnavism. The district-size river island over the mighty river Brahmaputra has dozens of Vaishnavite monasteries, locally called Satras, and the Raas festival is organised in a grand manner, keeping intact the pure essence of the festival.

Locals perform Bhaona, a traditional form of drama where artists play various mythological characters. Bhaona was started in the fifteenth or sixteenth century by a social-religious reformer and a figure of importance in the cultural and religious history of Assam, Srimanta Sankardeva.

People in thousands witnessed the Raas performed at various monasteries on Monday night. Auniati, Dakhinpat, Uttar Kamalabari, Natun Kamalabari, and Garmur satras are some of the big monasteries.

For the past several centuries, it has been the tradition of the Majuli people to pay their obeisance to Lord Krishna by enacting his Raas Leela.

In upper Assam districts, Raas is largely celebrated, where humans dress themselves in various Indian mythological characters. Locally made masks are one of the major features of the dance dramas and represent various mythological creatures.

Whereas, statues of mythological figures are installed for public viewing.

Starting this year, the Assam government, led by Himanta Biswa Sarma, is financially assisting Raas committees. The state government transfers Rs 25,000 each to about 3,000 organisers across the state.

The Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government also provides Rs 150,000 and Rs 10,000 to Rongali Bihu and Durga Puja organisers.

“Our commitment to preserving and promoting our culture is of utmost importance. Starting this year, we will be providing a financial grant of Rs 25,000 for celebrating the Rass Festival in 3,000 locations. This initiative aims to support and encourage the celebration of this traditional festival across our region,” said Assam CM recently in an X post.

Later today, CM Sarma is scheduled to visit Majuli to participate in Raas Mahotsav. (ANI)

Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Gurpurab, is a sacred festival that marks the birth anniversary of the first guru of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev.

It is a significant day in Sikhism since it commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first of the 10 Sikh gurus and the founder of Sikhism. The celebration is notable for its fervent devotion, spiritual gatherings, and the recitation of hymns from the Guru Granth Sahib, Sikhism’s holy scripture.

Ramayana likely to be part of NCERT social science textbooks https://indiapost.com/ramayana-likely-to-be-part-of-ncert-social-science-textbooks/ Tue, 21 Nov 2023 04:58:58 +0000 https://indiapost.com/?p=187393 NEW DELHI: Epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata should be taught in schools as part of the history curriculum under India’s ‘classical period’, a high-level National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) panel has recommended.

The panel has also recommended that the Preamble of the Constitution be written on the walls of all classrooms in vernacular languages, the committee’s chairman, Prof C I Issac told ANI over phone.

The Social Science Committee of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) set up to revise the social sciences curriculum for schools, has made several proposals including the introduction of the Indian knowledge system, the Vedas and Ayurveda in textbooks.

The suggestions have been part of the final position paper on social sciences, which is a key perspective document that helps in the development of new NCERT textbooks on the subject. The proposal has yet to get a final nod from NCERT.

“The panel has made recommendations for the classification of history into four periods: the classical period, the mediaeval period, the British era, and modern India. Till now, there have been only three classifications of Indian history- ancient, Medieval and modern India,” Issac, a retired history professor, said.

“Under the classical period, we have recommended that Indian epics–Ramayana and Mahabharata–be taught. We have recommended that the student have an idea of who Rama was and what his purpose was. A little bit about the epic,” said Isaac.

The panel has also proposed that textbooks should give space to all dynasties that ruled India instead of just one or two. Isaac informed that the panel has suggested that the book contain information about victories and heroes like Subhash Chandra Bose.

“The students must know about the Indian heroes and their struggles and victories so that they can get confidence,” he said.

“We have also suggested that the Preamble should be written on the walls of all classrooms in vernacular languages,” he added

The panel has also proposed that the name Bharat should replace the word India in textbooks. On this, NCERT had last month, said the process of syllabus development was still ongoing.

“It is too premature to comment on the news being flashed in the media on the concerned issue,” the NCERT said. (ANI)

GST and Online Gaming – Who are the Real Winners? https://indiapost.com/gst-and-online-gaming-who-are-the-real-winners/ Thu, 16 Nov 2023 13:13:39 +0000 https://indiapost.com/?p=187295 Online gaming is one of the world’s fastest-growing and most profitable sectors, particularly in India, where millions of individuals enjoy sports betting, casino games, poker, fantasy sports, and other activities.

Online gaming is also one of the most contentious and regulated sectors in the world, particularly in India, where the legal status and taxes of online gaming are confusing and complex, and where the government and society have opposing views and attitudes on the subject.

The 28% GST rate on online gambling has prompted much controversy and discussion among stakeholders and the general public since it has several ramifications and effects on the sector and the economy. In this article, we will examine and analyze the GST rate of 28% on online gaming, and its impact and influence on the online gaming industry and the economy.

Unveiling the Reasons and Motives for the 28% GST Rate on Online Gaming

The GST Council authorized a standard GST rate of 28% on online gambling, casinos, and horse racing, applied to the full face value of bets or chips rather than operator fees or commissions, during its 50th and 51st meetings in July and August 2023, respectively. The decision was reached to adopt the 28% GST rate on internet gambling, casinos, and horse racing beginning October 1, 2023, with a six-month review.

The justification for this GST rate is based on various considerations. To begin, internet gaming, including the use of legal betting apps in India, is considered gambling and is viewed as a social evil deserving of deterrence by heavy taxes, by the government’s and society’s constitutional and moral obligations.

Online gaming is often viewed as a source of black money and money laundering, endangering national security and economic stability. As a result, imposing a high tax rate is viewed as a method to regulate and mitigate these risks, by the government’s and society’s legal and budgetary duties. Finally, given the profitable nature of the online gaming sector and its potential for revenue and income production, a high tax rate is justified on financial and developmental grounds.

Addressing Challenges Faced by Online Gaming Operators and Players Due to the 28% GST Rate

The challenges caused by the 28% GST rate on online gambling affect operators and players in several critical areas. The high tax rate severely decreases their profitability since it is applied to the entire face value of bets or chips rather than just the actual revenue from fees or commissions. This hinders investment and industry engagement.

Furthermore, the GST rate appears to be unjust since it fails to recognize the unique characteristics of online gambling. Online gaming is regarded as a luxury and a sin good, even though it contributes significantly to digital and creative economies and promotes national wealth. This view ignores the various benefits of internet gaming, such as amusement, enjoyment, education, and sociability, as well as the skill, strategy, and knowledge necessary to play it. The potential contributions of the online gaming industry to economic growth are impeded by a lack of incentives or relief available in other businesses.

Examining Opportunities and Benefits for Offshore and Fraudulent Online Gaming Companies Due to the 28% GST Rate

The 28% GST rate contributes significantly to a huge imbalance in demand and supply, which offshore and fraudulent online gaming enterprises are eager to exploit and take advantage of. With the introduction of GST duties and the possibility of legal repercussions, reputable and licensed online gambling firms are being compelled to abandon the sector. This departure creates a hole that unscrupulous businesses readily fill, establishing a market monopoly.

To increase their profits, these organizations use unethical techniques like game rigging and manipulation, as well as charging expensive fees and commissions and maintaining low-quality security standards. As a result, they hold tremendous market power, leaving players and customers vulnerable to unfair tactics, fraud, and fraudulent operations.

Exploring Solutions and Alternatives for Addressing the 28% GST Rate on Online Gaming Faced by the Industry and Government

Essentially, the online gaming industry is advised to embrace self-regulation by enacting standards and laws that promote fairness and moral behavior. This policy prioritizes player safety while also safeguarding the industry’s credibility. To encourage responsible and safe gaming, the industry should also focus on educating players and the wider public on the legal and social elements of online gaming.

Furthermore, the government should enact a comprehensive and standard law that controls and gives licenses for online gaming while distinguishing between skill and chance games. Legislation should establish a regulatory agency to oversee the sector, ensure legal compliance, and defend the rights of participants, as well as explicitly identify the foundation for this distinction.

Conclusion

The 28% GST rate on online gambling, a game-changer, and a season-maker will set the tone and direction for both the online gaming business and the wider economy. To ensure that the 28% GST rate on online gaming truly benefits the online gaming industry and the economy, the government and the online gaming industry should collaborate and work together to find a balance and a compromise between revenue and income generation and online gaming regulation and licensing.
